🍄 The Tale of the Little Groundling Witch
(as whispered by the forest floor)
No one really sees her at first, not until they sit down. (I can relate to this myself.)
The Little Groundling Witch lives where the leaves have finished their falling.
Where tree roots breathe beneath the soil.
Where beetles whisper in bark code and the tiniest fungi bloom in secret.
She doesn’t need a broom or a bubbling pot.
She stirs spells with her stillness and sweeps the forest paths with her presence.
When the wind rustles in spiral language, she listens with her whole body.
Some say she was born from a curled-up fern one soft spring morning, others say she wandered out from an old acorn cap, blinking and barefoot.
Either way, she knows things that tall folk forget.
🌿 She knows how to invite the shyest soul to sit down and become part of the listening.
🌿 She knows how to comfort worms, guide raindrops, and hum songs to sleeping stones.
🌿 And most of all, she knows how to hold silence like a secret, (much like I do) not to keep it, but to share it gently.
If you’re lucky enough to meet her, and still enough to hear her, she may press a tiny bit of moss into your hand.
Or maybe she’ll just smile that knowing smile that says:
“You found your way back. You remembered how to be small again. That’s where all the real magic begins.”
